BRINGING NATURE INTO PLAY: IN AND OUT OF THE PLAYROOM

We know that there is positive impact of nature on mental health! How do we utilize this tool in and out of the playroom for sessions? 


Come learn ways to use parts of nature as metaphor, as a regulation tool, and as a creative outlet with different ages and diagnosis in sessions. 


We also discuss ethical considerations for outside sessions as well as the neurobiological impact of nature on growing brains to share with parents!

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

1. Explain how nature impacts the brain and play for children 2. Discuss how nature can be a tool for metaphor, creativity, and regulation in a play session


3. List ways to pull in nature for specific directive and nondirective interventions in play sessions inside and outside


4. Create a list of special considerations for ethical practice with outside play


5. Plan explanation for caregivers about how and why nature can have a positive impact on play therapy treatment
